A Qlustar security update bundle is a cumulative update of packages that are taken from upstream Debian/Ubuntu without modification. Only packages that are used in a typical HPC/Storage cluster installation are mentioned in Qlustar Security Advisories. Other non-HPC related updates also enter the Qlustar repository, but their functionality is not separately verified by the Qlustar team. To track these updates subscribe to the general security mailing lists of Debian/Ubuntu and/or AlmaLinux.

Juthawong Naisanguansee discovered that PAM incorrectly cleared failed login attempt records when certain services invoked the account phase without first performing authentication. An attacker could possibly use this issue to reset failed login counters, resulting in authentication lockout restrictions being bypassed.
It was discovered that Vim incorrectly handled certain tags files. An attacker could possibly use this issue to execute arbitrary code.
The following issues are only relevant for Qlustar 13.
It was discovered that Perl incorrectly handled short source addresses in the Socket module. An attacker could possibly use this issue to trigger an out-of-bounds heap read, resulting in information disclosure.
It was discovered that Perl incorrectly handled regular expressions containing a large number of fixed string alternatives. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause incorrect regular expression matches, resulting in security restrictions being bypassed.
It was discovered that Perl incorrectly handled certain large repeat counts when processing pack and unpack templates. An attacker could possibly use this issue to trigger an out-of-bounds heap read, resulting in information disclosure.
It was discovered that Perl incorrectly handled certain crafted data when deserializing with the Storable module. An attacker could possibly use this issue to trigger an integer overflow and application termination, resulting in a denial of service.
It was discovered that OpenSSL incorrectly handled buffering of DTLS records for a future epoch. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause OpenSSL to use excessive resources, leading to a denial of service.
It was discovered that OpenSSL incorrectly handled CMS key unwrapping. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause a heap buffer overflow, leading to a denial of service or arbitrary code execution.
It was discovered that OpenSSL incorrectly limited the growth of an internal certificate cache used during CMP operations. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause OpenSSL to use excessive resources, leading to a denial of service.
It was discovered that OpenSSL incorrectly handled CMP protection algorithm validation. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause OpenSSL to crash, resulting in a denial of service.
It was discovered that OpenSSL incorrectly verified authentication tags when using certain AEAD ciphers via the EVP_Cipher() interface. An attacker could possibly use this issue to perform AEAD forgery attacks.
Joshua Rogers discovered that curl incorrectly handled reusing connections when client certificate settings changed. This could result in the wrong client certificates being used, contrary to expectations.
